Succeeding his ‘ATMOS’ EP released in March 2023, Bordeaux-based producer Janett returns with the three-track ‘Mangrove‘ EP on the French imprint Le Chaud-Froid.
Based on club-focused methods crafted through numerous live performances in clubs and festivals, ‘Sticks‘ demonstrates Janett’s knack for inhibiting cybernated emotions through industrial shears of dark techno, spine-chilling breaks and hazy dub techno.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Sticks‘ – a discombobulating techno whirlpool of mind-bending frequencies, syphons of breaks reinforced with puffed-up kickdrums and meditative synthesizers. Awakening us to the sound of the apocalypse with its ultra-altered pneumatophore rhythms, Janett has designed a valuable survival kit for crossing the Sundarbans in style.
