Lovers of sleek and well-groomed house-y tunes tailored for poolside parties and languid lounging, a new label’s in town and it’s certainly got you covered for the sunny months, when the shades and flowery skirts are finally back out (not a long time to go, says the light-craver), but also the cold weeks when the sun’s moved past our hemisphere and the need for a warmer swing is becoming a vital need.
Newborn UK-based imprint air miles is here to please and their debut offering, courtesy of London’s Jeigo – whose productions have already graced the grooves of labels like Valby Rotary and Shadow City Records, shall fall right in time for the opening of the festival season. Recorded between London and Paris, ‘An Ode To Midnight‘ is packed with the kind of laid-back bounce and subtly-woven, velveteen textures that pledge to make some serious waves across the dancefloors in the next months.
A true sense-soother tinged with some solid foot-shuffling DNA – not unlike what the likes of Church and Coastal Haze have been proposing over the last few years, our premiere ‘Wing Systems‘ relies on little elements to make the club quiver in ecstasy, but its expansive minimalism is – and it’s safe to say – no short of infectious. Ethereal and dreamy, dancy but also deliciously indolent, this one’s primed for the hazy hours of the day, when the mind needs an alternative plane-hop out in the deep blue sky. Uplifting lounge-y house material at its finest.
An Ode To Midnight is released via air miles on 22nd March, pre-order a copy from Juno. Launch party is happening at The Waiting Room in London on Saturday 23rd March, more info here.
