Premiere: Julio Victoria – Tres

By Baptiste Girou BUY
Reading Time: 1 min
Astrolabe

To those familiar with the South American scene, the name of Julio Victoria will undoubtedly ring a bell. Having plied his trade modernising traditional Colombian music with his live ensemble for nearly a decade, Julio’s eventually making his solo debut on London’s certified vibes merchants Church with the superb ‘Astrolabe‘.

Lifted from this triplet of slo-cruising deep house gems, our pick ‘Tres‘ whelms us in idyllic dreamscapes where the sounds of Andean folk chimes, FX-folded drums and stealth bass manoeuvres knit a uniquely fresh and exotic kind of downtempo floor narrative. A weightless, multisensory trip across the sunrise sky, this one’s sure to get the crowds into an awe-inspiring state of meditative balance. Beauty.

Astrolabe is released via Church on 23rd August, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
