Not quite decided to pick a side between ambient and rhythmic grounds, the enigmatic lastminuteman champions a hazed-out, weirdly arranged strain of electronics. Speckled with hissy drums, faded pads and hyperventilating echoes, the tracks forming the backbone to his newest for Jheri Tracks, ‘lamb‘ EP – much like his 2017-released debut for wherethetimegoes – got the vaporous taste of an aimless morning walk in the ruins and debris of some freaky, boozy party.
Our premiere, the title-track ‘lamb‘ is a slo-burning, verbed-out melter for the wee hours. Out of an arsenal of iridescing steelpans and pastel synth colours, meshed with a stealth 2-step-ish kind of pulse, LMM weaves a singular narrative of disenchantment and faith recapture, washing the blues away in soothing showers of Caribbean warmth. Perfect for low-battery moments and transitional states, this one will boost your vital energy levels and vitamin up your day. Soul healer.
