Premiere: Ozel AB – Science Of Sleep

Luke Palmer rose to the attention of the wider electronic music community in 2014 following an excellent debut EP on Lobster Theremin. ‘Crimes’ EP quietly announced the arrival of Ozel AB: a unique musical force and an essential addition to the diverse roster of this scene-defining imprint.

The years that followed have seen two more outings for Lobster Theremin, on top of a surprise 12” + 7″ for Workshop 24. His latest outing and first of the year, the ‘Infinity’ EP, sees the producer departing ties from the Lobster camp for Hackney-based experimentalists Third Ear Recordings, coming through with a genre-bending five-tracker.

Today we’re excited to share a premiere of the record’s opener, “Science of Sleep”. The tune is founded upon a low-fidelity hybrid of techno propulsion and wavering 2-step swing – as Ozel’s synthesizers resonate wildly, quantised static and mournful vocal samples echo around your headphones, resulting in something beautifully strange.

‘Infinity’ EP is scheduled for release 18th September 2018 via Third Ear Recordings. Order a copy from Juno.
