California dance imprint 100% Silk kick off 2025 with a new addition to their roster. Berkeley-based producer Benjy Toczynski has put out a handful of digital tracks under the Patioworld moniker, and now he’s teaming up with Silk for the project’s debut physical release.
From the opening notes, ‘Moonlight Beach’ has the classic 100% Silk sound, as every track drifts across the sky with neon-lit house and warehouse IDM. Toczynski’s aesthetic feels warm and lived in, where even on the first listen you feel as if you’re revisiting an old favourite.
Our pick is “Spider“. The synth lines that weave in and out of one another provoke images of cool, calm, and collected moments. Starting off with some expertly crafted minimalism, the synths and percussion bounce off each other in the empty spaces, with everything building to a low-slung crescendo. On “Spider” and the rest of ‘Moonlight Beach’, it’s all about the journey as the effortless grooves take you for a midnight ride along the Pacific Coast Highway.
