Premiere: Physical Therapy – Spasm

After a busy 2015 marked by releases for Vancouver’s finest 1080p, DJ Haus’ UTTU and Liberation Technologies, Daniel Fisher puts the pedal to the metal with a spanking four-tracker for Spencer Parker’s Work Them Records, set to hit the shelves on June 20th.

Baktadust‘ sees the Berlin via New York based producer back on hammer-mode, dispensing a choice assortment of Birmingham-style ravagers and trippy breakbeat hybrids. If the original mix unleashes a steroid-fueled cavalcade lacing up double-edged strings with all-out 4/4 drum patterns, the Fried mix feels like its exact negative pole.

Our premiere ‘Spasm’ contorts to the brutal onrush of a shadow-cruising predator bass and off-key synth switchbacks as a flock of bruising snares, smacking claps and clinky hi-hats drive the track into a chaos-inducing furnace. Physical Therapy has rarely sported his name so aptly.
