Now on the cusp of their seventh release, Belgian imprint SELLA unleashed the two-track ‘Phoenix‘ EP soon to be released physically – courtesy of Antwerp-born producer risus.
Originally sticking around obscure warehouses with his industrial techno alias Mörg and six previous releases on his puzzling imprint SELLA, ‘Phoenix‘ takes inspiration from timeless spirits wandering in mindless skeletons. Spread across two tracks, risus presents a collection of kosmische ambient, cinematic IDM and melodic techno.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Embers‘ – a smoldering piece of ambient magma sliding from a subterranean volcano. Sounding like a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed symphony, this track embodies blissful moments of gratitude with its high-frequency oscillations, celestial chorus and delicate synth pads.
‘Phoenix’ EP is scheduled for release on 8th March via SELLA. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
