Within just a year of activity, Proto Sites has established itself as a bastion for daring and shape-shifting electronic music. From the deep-rolling aquascapes of Imre Kiss and Casi Cada Minuto’s split and ahead of Warsaw wizard Lutto Lento’s upcoming instalment, the label stays true to its boundary-pushing mantra.
Their new release Trancess is the fruit of a collaboration with a pillar of the Budapest scene in the person of Martin Mikolai. Going under the moniker of S Olbricht, the Hungarian producer has emerged as a prolific and unique composer with his music being released on outlets such as Opal Tapes, Lobster Theremin as well as his own imprint Farbwechsel.
Today we’re glad to premiere ‘Lacertid (feat. Imre Kiss)‘ a new extract taken from the Trancess EP. Fitting somewhere between Autechre ambient works and Tim Hecker’s Harmony In Ultraviolet, the dark-shaded, droning convolutions of the track promise to haunt your days and nights.
Trancess is available in vinyl and digital formats, order a copy from Bandcamp.
