Premiere: Sentry – PS006 Remixes

Earlier this year the mysterious Sentry landed on Slovakia-based label Proto Sites with ‘Stranger As A Friend‘, an immersive mini-album fusing off-kilter electronics, industrial rhythms and weatherbeaten soundscapes. This time, the label comes up with a pair of contrasting reworks courtesy of Where To Now? affiliate Manta and Japanese producer 99Letters, which they’re both graciously giving away through their Bandcamp page and as a bonus to the purchase of the original 12″.

First in line, Portuguese producer Manta reshuffles ‘Gargoyles Laser‘ into a reverb-drenched bass churner under Bristolian influence. Dipping toes in murky waters as its bass inflections resound deep in between tangled drum patterns and spectral string movements, the track displays some forcible floor dynamics. For his part taking on ‘Kingdom‘, 99Letters delivers a more laid-back version, doped on rolling arpeggios and offbeat percs blazing under a sizzling sun.

PS006 Remixes is now up for grabs for free on Proto Sites Bandcamp.
