If you already have the impression that summer is passing too fast and you’d like to loosen up on a deckchair, drinking a fresh pina colada, we have the right soundtrack for this scenario. Edward and Prins Thomas share their personal interpretations of two tracks by Brooklyn-based duo Sepalcure, due out on July 8th 2016 via Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings.
Both tracks are part of their second full-length, ‘Folding Time‘, an 11-track slice fusing the pair’s signature blend of drum’n’bass and mellow R&B vocals, and giving full vent to the nasty break-beats and sensuous chopped-up melodies that characterise Braille and Machinedrum’s productions.
If Full Pup’s head honcho Prins Thomas turns ‘Fight For Us‘ into a cosmic disco journey driven by a prancing bass whilst clinging to Rochelle Jordan’s romantic vocals, Giegling mainstay Edward rework of ‘Loosen Up‘ rolls the original breakbeat rhythm in shadow-clad barbed wires, darting spiralling synths and stealth melodic drives that’ll sure get you off your beach chair to dance your way in this sandstorm.
Fight For Us/Loosen Up Remixes is due out via Hotflush on 8th July 2016, order a copy via Boomkat.
