Premiere: Too Smooth Christ – Searching For The Dog Scepter

Fresh off a top-notch offering on his own label Supergenius Records, off which we premiered the tasty ‘9 PM At Anthony’s‘ two weeks ago, Christophe Le Gall aka Too Smooth Christ returns with a compelling three-tracker on French imprint Lost Dogs Entertainment.

Record after record, Le Gall has been carving out a lane of his own, midway between the smiling spectre of childhood memories and lighthearted eeriness of neo-retro electronics, cementing his position as one of the most intriguing producers of his generation, rich of EPs on cantina.cool, Ville Nouvelle and Fuego International, plus a new release on Nocta Numerica coming up shortly.

Our pick from TSC’s silk-smooth canine epics on the fleabag-friendly Lost Dogs Entertainment – the excellent ‘Searching For The Dog Scepter‘ – finds the French producer doing what he does best i.e. throwing you headfirst into a motley scope of crystalline arrangements, cascading drums and cottony pads scudding in slo-mo. Remember when Snowy got high on Haddock’s whisky? Well this could well be the soundtrack to the drunken dog’s following adventures.

In Search Of The Dog Scepter is out now via Lost Dogs Entertainment, order a copy from Bandcamp.
