Following EPs from emerging talents Impurity and Kamus, Or:la’s imprint Céad continues to go from strength to strength. For their next release, the label is back with 4 pieces of scorching dancefloor heat from an international cast of cub specialists.
With a tendency to favour analog drum machines and dreamy pads, Belgium-based producer Supreems is usually known for his nostalgia-tinged house. This has seen him land on labels such as Lobster Theremin and Nice Age as well as remixing artists like Hammer and Will Silver.
On ‘MMXXI Inferno’, it seems that the producer is trying something a bit different. Stripped-back to just the deadly essentials, ‘Two Faces’ is UK Funky with a twist. The track is predominantly kicks, snares and grimace-inducing bass, but with an extended eyes-closed breakdown, the type that we might typically expect from the artist.
‘MMXXI Inferno’ is scheduled for release 27 September via Céad. Proceeds raised during pre-order will go towards Afghan Aid to provide urgent, life-saving assistance to families in Afghanistan affected by conflict. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
