Soft As Snow sign to Mexico’s Infinite Machine, announce second album ‘Bit Rot’

Following their debut album release in 2018 on Houndstooth, today Norwegian duo Soft As Snow announce their sophomore album via Mexico City’s ever-progressive imprint Infinite Machine.

Beginning their career in 2014 with an extensive string of EP’s for Houndstooth, Soft As Snow have kept almost kept exclusively affiliated to the label to give output to  their stony brand of music. Straddling the worlds of pop and more jagged genres, from noise to My Bloody Valentine-inspired shoegaze rock, Soft As Snow have kept loyalists waiting three years for their next offering.

Bit Rot‘ sees the Berlin-based pair step into the depths of modern living’s dualities and grating realities, “in which smooth digital surfaces are locked in conflict with messy physical realities”, according to Infinite Machine. Elements of 80’s wave and synth-pop fuse with the musical pillars of European nightlife, evoking the ever-increasing harmonisation and destabilisation of the physical and digital realms.

Mixed by Ville Haimala of Amnesia Scanner, mastered by Fausto Mercier, and sporting a Kronenburg-esque sculpture by Norwegian artist Camilla Steinum on the cover, the tour-de-force album will also see the creation of a live performance alongside 3D artist Guynoid, which will be presented at this years edition of Lunchmeat Festival.

‘Bit Rot’ is scheduled for release 29 October via Infinite Machine. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
