Metempsychosis Records have been releasing forward-thinking techno and experimental electronics for the past three year. Now they step up to release a powerful EP from Italian techno duo Tapefeed, taking inspiration from political activist Eldridge Cleaver: “They use force to make you do what the deciders have decided you must do”. Breaks, swirling whirs and heavy-hitters work to make this transpire.
On this pretence, Alessandro Boni and Rick Vayo push their love for avant-garde tropes with a nifty extended player, shuffling between blistering industrial and functional techno. We zoom in on Answer Code Request‘s hybrid techno rework of ‘FPOT‘, slowing things down a notch in favour of a darker and more hypnotic atmosphere.
