Premiere: Trans Neptunian Orbit – Warp Speed

A young label from Dublin, Hotseat Recordings dispatch their reliable emissary Trans Neptunian Orbit for an astral foray into club-centric dance music.

Trance music and the outer reaches of space often seem to go hand-in-hand, either through direct connotation or through the implications of the out-there sonics. The vision of flashing through asteroid fields to the fast-tempo, high-adrenaline genre seems to conjure itself naturally. Trans Neptunian Orbit, the alias of Berlin-based producer Maurice Anthony Moran taps into this mindset effortlessly on his ‘No Sign Of Life‘ EP.

Our premiere, ‘Warp Speed‘, is a demonstration in modern trance textures — with a name like ‘Warp Speed‘, what else could it be? Summoning the same big-room energy that has been so well adopted by the likes of Jensen Interceptor and Tred, Moran crafts a strafing attack, shifting seamlessly between full-throttle offence and quiet moments which cause the subsequent nosedives into frantic acid-centric assault seem all the more deadly. With a balance between the use of the sword and the shield, ‘Warp Speed’ is perfect for finding moments of serenity that only enhance the damage of the next impact.

‘No Sign Of Life’ EP is scheduled for release 15 March via Hotseat Recordings. Order a copy from Beatport.
