After a couple top-notch releases from label founder Sentiments, including a joint 12″ featuring longtime partner in crime Franck Gérard, Lyon-based label Light On Earth is set to reemerge in December with the debut delivery from mysterious producer Vivance. Named ‘Étoile D’Alaï‘, the record includes a solid pair of remixes from Italian producer and RBMA graduate Lamusa II, plus a very special reggae-pop variation from Sentiments himself.
Premiereing through our channels today, Vivance jaunty new beat pumper ‘Original Groundscape Version‘ bends the curve between a bouncy Italo pulse and a chirpy, Boccaccio-friendly kind of atmosphere. Propelled by relentless waves of acid bass arpeggios, the track sets off a firestorm of coltish synthlines, static-filled ’80s rock guitar riffs, zippy woodblocks and mangled vox stabs turned abstract bleeps from another dimension. A choice debut transmission from the Lyon up-and-comer.
Étoile D’Alaï is released via Light On Earth on 7th December, pre-order a copy from Juno.
