Our sister mix series Newtype Rhythms returns with an episode filled with simmering selections courtesy of Mexican producer Siete Catorce.
After excellent releases on labels such as Enchufada, NAAFI and his own Subreal imprint, Siete Catorce delivers an eclectic four-tracker to be released today on the burgeoning BRUK label – entitled ‘Temperatura‘.
Covering the cavernous connections between field recordings, classic UK funky, dub techno, and club deconstructions, Siete Catorce exhibits a persistence for evolving with the times – even when there aren’t dancefloors open to hear out these excellent tunes.
That’s where his guest mix for Newtype Rhythms comes in; as it picks up the pace masterfully and leads towards roads unearthed on the series thus far. Between the shifting tempos and evocative rhythmic trickery, this is a can’t-miss mix that features excellent selections and a hefty chunk of dubs from the guest himself.
