Ninja Tune salvage unloved vinyl into AIAIAI TMA-2 Headphones

Ninja Tune team up with Danish headphone manufacturers AIAIAI to rebirth their unbought and deadstock records into the world’s first recycled headset.

Known for their sleek, modular design, AIAIAI’s allow the owner to swap and change any aspect of the headphones to adapt to the studio, the booth, and out-and-about listening.

The Ninja Tune Edition TMA-2 headphones are made using pulped vinyl to create the S05 speaker units, with the limited edition set arriving with a Bluetooth 5.0 headband allowing for 20 hours of wireless audio when roaming, a cable and adaptor for plugged play, as well as a choice of on-ear and off-ear cushions, stamped with the Ninja Tune logo on the interior.

As vinyl pressing peaks again, this drop represents a great initiative from one of the UK’s largest and best-loved labels to make use of an unused resource, and collaborating with AIAIAI’s makes perfect sense: rather than buying a whole new pair of headphones for a different use-case, owners can simply get the desired headband, speaker or ear cushion for their needs. A promising and tactile solution to overproduction on two ends of the music world.

Priced at £220, Ninja Tune Limited Edition TMA-2 AIAIAI’s are out now. Order a pair.
