Australian imprint pocketmoth step into the double digits with an EP from close friend of the label, George Hickman. Operating simply as George, ‘Strange Ways’ is the first transmission from this new project and a fine example of his aptitude for crafting deep, transportive work.
To accompany the release, the label have put together some visuals created using analogue video modulation. We’re excited to premiere the captivating video for ‘Against Better Judgement’, whose pensive tones are accompanied by hypnotic, obfuscated landscapes, scenes that appear similar to diagnostic imagery or infrared footage.
As we move through these abstracted landscapes, rendered in blues and greens, George’s track unfurls at an unhurried pace. The palette that the video employs fits well with the producer’s understated percussion, most mellow of pads and ponderous sampled monologue.
