Following last years release of ‘Racconti (Remixes)‘ on Protofuture, featuring a skeletal synthwave remix from Elena Colombi, Algorave maestro Novo Line joins the ranks of Colombi’s continuously experimental imprint Osàre! Editions with the forthcoming release of ‘Zeit’ EP.
Novo Line is the production alias of Berlin-based musician Nat Fowler, a deft producer who likes to experiment with predominantly ’80s equipment including vintage digital synths, discarded MIDI Hi-Tech, tape delay and even an ancient Atari ST PC, resulting in outer-dimensional experimental electronic music spanning synthwave, EBM, industrial, leftfield and new beat.
Fowler’s latest extended player ‘Zeit‘ is an entirely new sonic universe, eerily familiar yet utterly uncharted. Today, we present the music video premiere of ‘Cortina‘ – a track brimming with hyper-static frequencies and savage new beat tendencies.
Novo Line brings the track to life with this vivid and highly detailed film, starring himself with Estelle Quarino as a couple hypnotised in space-age nostalgia. After watching the film, it leaves a lasting impression of Mars Attacks! (1996) meets Rubber Johnny (Chris Cunningham’s ) – it’s weird, beautifully shot and totally the right atmosphere for the music.
