We are offering two pairs of tickets to see Murcof perform the 5th and last in this series of artist residency performances on the 4DSOUND system in Amsterdam. His residency at 4DSOUND is an invitation to explore new personal ways of structure and narrative in his music, by means of space.
4DSOUND is a new sound system built in Amsterdam that consists of 48 omnidirectional speakers, arranged in a modular structure of columns, dividing the space in a grid of equal squares. The entire installation takes 265m2 of floor space with 9 sub integrated in the floor. Read further information here.
Born in Tijuana, Mexico, Fernando Corona has been working under the Murcof alias for the last 12 years. Developing a distinctive intricacy and depth in his production, his signature is a palpable crossover between the electronic and the classical. Murcof experiments with acoustic warmth and digital precision, incorporating subtle electronic minimalism with a musical language reminiscent of modern classical composers such as Arvo Pärt and Morton Feldman. In his collaborative work with AntiVJ he has explored immersive visual performance to re-interpret his sonic narratives.
Lighting and visuals by Daniel Besnyo, Dennis Michael Khieffer Beviz, Istvan Hollos and Ferenc Varga.
