DIY launch record label with 7″ single from Egyptian artist and musician Dijit

Following events in London in 2019 with HTRK and Dark Entries label boss Josh Cheon, London via Cairo-based platform DIY launched their record label earlier in December with the release of a 7” single named ‘NAFTO‘ from Egyptian producer Dijit.

With just 300 copies available, the 7-inch is available from Boomkat and is said to be “a slinky slice of trip hop placing smoked vocals on a sunken groove that wouldn’t sound out of place on Young Echo.” – we highly recommend the remix on the flip side from Bristol-based producer Kinlaw.

Dijit, real name Hashem L Kelesh, is an Egyptian artist and musician based in Jordan using online technologies for the production and dissemination of most of his work. He has produced music under many titles and featuring many artists in the region like Aly Talibab (spoken word artist), Abyusif (rapper), Mohamed Adel (composer and guitarist), AC Ghazy (rapper), SD (singer and spoken word artist), and Leila (vocals).

‘NATFO’ is out now via DIY Records. Order a copy from Boomkat.
