Russian producer RNBWS, real name Maxim Nikolaev, lands on Munich-based outpost RFR Records with ‘Radical Decisions‘, a three track EP of no-nonsense dance music to close out the year.
With a catalogue stretching over dubstep and electro, Maxim has caught support from Paleman to Nina Kraviz — landing on RFR for the first time, this time it seems the producer’s going full rave. Straight-up dancefloor business the whole way through, RNBWS delivers heat across each track — but it’s the extended player’s titular track which clinches the prize.
‘Radical Decisions‘ binds the guiding elements of electro into a fierce formula, just right for stirring up a floor. Despite the several total breakpoints, RNBWS leaves little room for air: throwing in dashes of bleary noise, hard techno aesthetic, and acid trance wind-tunnel energy to the mix, when the track cuts completely it’s only to emphasise the toughness when it slams back in. Rough and ready, weaponised material for sweaty floors.
