The latest episode of our sister mix series Newtype Rhythms packs a thwacker of a guest mix courtesy of Lithuanian-via-Brussels bass legend DJ JM.
After amassing momentous releases for labels such as Even The Strong, Goon Club All Stars and Nervous Horizon, JM puts out another distinguishing release – a six-tracker called Squash on the burgeoning Maloca Records imprint, run by Newtype Rhythms alumni Le Motel.
Already an impressive talent within the scenes of bass, funky and hard drum circles – DJ JM expounds on his previous production stylings by imbuing further explorations into parts unknown by traversing newer paths towards wonkier melodics and ever-shifting percussive hypnotism.
That type of fervent energy is what we have craved for Newtype Rhythms, and DJ JM delivers in that regard and more with a terrific, traversing guest mix for the series. Check out his guest mix at 38 minutes in, with resident Sheepshead warming things up per usual.
