Coming off the back of a solid 2021 with releases from IORI, Mike Parker, Nik Nak and O Yuki Conjugate, Kynant Records welcome Detroit Techno luminary Terrence Dixon to the label with his ‘Relinked‘ EP.
Berlin-based Kynant have a knack for foraging a distinct strain of vortex techno and ‘Relinked‘ is a fine example of label owner Richard Akingbehin’s passion for a more thoughtful, unconventional form of the genre.
Terrence Dixon embellishes on the extremities of his dissonant and machine-driven dystopian techno with 6 tracks of trademark minimal bleepers, unorthodox groovers and synthy sci-fi soundscapes of the future.
Much like his Rush Hour and Tresor LPs, Dixon’s work often flies under the radar, and he receives fewer accolades than his hometown counterparts. Like most of his output, though, the EP is extra-planetary, understated and hypnotic. Top vibes from a true techno sorcerer and one of Detroit’s best.
‘Relinked’ will be available on 12” vinyl and digital formats from 18 February and comes freshly mastered by techno’s go-to sound engineer, Neel. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
