Premiere: Annie Hall – Miedo Estetico

Avoidant Records out of Glasgow – an offshoot from Slam’s legendary Soma – surface with a hefty electro compilation entitled ‘Defend Your Planet‘.

Featuring the talents of The Advent, Carl Finlow, Detroit In Effect and Fear_E, shoulder to shoulder with the greats are many more names; some familiar to Avoidant Records disciples, others newer. One such name that should turn your head is Annie Hall, thanks to her output on CPU, Semantica Records and Detroit Underground.

Hall’s input for the comp, ‘Miedo Estetico‘, rides a woozy line over the borders of electro and funk. The track marries electro’s obligatory clipped drum workouts with squeezed-out bursts of melody that seems to echo out of the 80’s. With spooky synths gliding around in the background, it’s a fun number, a great reminder that punchy dance music doesn’t just have to be stern and heavy.

‘Defend Your Planet’ is scheduled for release 27 November via Avoidant Records. Order a copy on Bandcamp
