Premiere: Arweenn – Seventh Sense

Arweenn prepares to drop an extended player, ‘Seeker of Revenge‘, on his own Alderic Records imprint. His two original productions are reworked by HEX’s Paolo Ferrera and Lorenzo Raganzini, and the semi-mythical SNTS, making for a heavy plate.

Although the label is only just get started, Alderic Records already carries authority in the dark techno scene thanks to the initial name on the roster, Stanislav Tolkachev, who was later joined by the likes of Sunil Sharpe and The Horrorist on a V/A in early 2020.

Opening the A side is ‘Seventh Sense‘, the softest of the record but by no means something to mess lightly with. Peeling gently out of an ambient intro, Arweenn lulls us into a false sense of security before hitting the hard dance buttons. It doesn’t quite match the summits later made by himself and, of course, SNTS and Ferrera and Raganzini on the remixes, but the contrast between those powertools and this balanced track makes for a finer record than if it was all-out terror across the wax.

‘Seeker of Revenge’ is scheduled for release 29 March via Alderic Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp
