Premiere: G.E.O. Corp – College Drive (Der Opium Queen’s 3am Lost In The Dub Mix)

Hot on the heels of a fine debut solo 12″ on All City’s sister label Pear released a few weeks ago, Irish producer George Earnest puts on a new moniker for his second EP, the joint-made ‘College Drive‘, due out imminently on First Second Label. Under the guise of G.E.O. Corp, the Dublin artist and his unnamed crewmate delve further into the deep, meditative end of the house spectrum, sprinkling their sleekly curved and textured synth chords with a hint of balearic patterns and classic harmonic tropes out the ’90s Chicago continuum to create their own synthetic blend.

All about immersive atmospheres and laid-back rhythms, ‘College Drive‘ is the perfect companion for poolside sun-basking and endless summer after parties. Lavishly finished, the vibe gets all the more languid on the ‘3am Lost In The Dub Mix‘ – which finds Der Opium Queen adroitly meshing tribal congas, bleached-out pads and altered race car engine acceleration sounds for what results in a proper mind-bending 13-minute compact house odyssey. Add to this the ever-satisfying piano loops and you’ve got one hell of a sun-kissed doozy, custom-made for a sunrise set in Pula. Magic.

College Drive is released via First Second Label on 31st August, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
