Premiere: Kim Ann Foxman – Wildlife

Amsterdam-based platform Oddysee make the leap from curated mixes and Buy Music Club playlists into releasing music with a benefit compilation raising money for Indigenous Peoples through the Sinchi Foundation.

With a bank of artists including Black Merlin, Eva Geist & Steve Pepe, JEANS, and New york-based musician Kim Ann Foxman, the compilation draws together well-known and new names under a shared banner of quality, with half of digital proceeds and all vinyl profts going towards the charity seeking to amplify Indigenous voices on the global stage.

Foxman’s track earns its title ‘Wildlife‘ through its use of field recordings and sampling, but beyond the overgrowth within the introduction the resemblence towards the natural world ends, and the dancefloor leanings come to the fore. A darkly meditative piece using dense layers, tension builds with the increasingly complex patterns, making this one ideal for insurrecting lax dancefloors.

‘Oddysee V/A 001 Fundraiser’ is scheduled for release 12 November via Oddysee. Order a copy from Bandcamp
