Premiere: Mituo Shiomi – [I Believe In Us]

Following last year’s killer split EP ‘Tracks From The Alley’, Bolognese imprint ALLEY VERSION are back with another clutch of machine jams. Guaranteed to make the dancefloor sweat, the follow-up installment contains, in their own words, “rough vibes for freaky minds”.

Following a three-track contribution to the first instalment of ‘Tracks From The Alley’, Takeshi Kouzuki returns with a tune called ‘Limited’. Label heads FLML turn in the hair raising ‘Rotten’ and the ever-prolific Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being turns in a pulsating cut called ‘Rare Elements of Persuasion’.

Our pick comes from Mituo Shiomi, a track by the name of ‘[I Believe In Us]’. The Japanese producer has his own lo-fi take on the jacking Chicago sound, using the Casio RZ1 on this cut that’s raw to say the least. Simple, but effective.

‘Tracks From The Alley Vol. II’ is scheduled for release 18 February via ALLEY VERSION. Order a copy from Juno.
