Premiere: Nathan Melja – Ignore

Following a handful of releases on Mister Saturday Night, Black Opal and Ninja Tune’s club-focused imprint Technicolour, French producer Nathan Melja inaugurated his own label Dream Real earlier this summer with the release of a vibey, low-slung three-track debut, ‘Jerky Teardrop‘, now followed by the equally deep and pensive ‘Raindrops‘ EP, out today in all good record stores.

Conjuring up esoteric, imaginative house tracks with an R’n’B influence, Melja dishes out a further convincing slab of glitchy downtempo house with ‘Ignore‘. Streaming in full over our channels, the track veers off from straight up static-filled ambientisms onto a riveting melange of off-piste bleepy digression, raw drum programming and hilly pad motifs, flexing and resorbing in a slow breathing movement. At only 3:22 mins in duration it feels a tad short, but will have you hit the rewind button ever since you press play.

Raindrops EP is out now, order a copy from Bandcamp.
