Jamaica Suk‘s ambitious 17-track compilation ‘Uncertain Landscape‘ kicks off with the first of four vinyl extended players on her Gradient imprint.
Featuring four blistering tracks from Electric Indigo, BNJMN, Arthur Kimskii and Wrong Assessment, ‘Gradient 004‘ marks a bold opening chapter in her expansive nosedive into the music of her contemporaries, selected for their parallels with Suk’s own style of techno.
Wrong Assessment’s ‘The Eight‘ showcases a taste of exactly what is in store across the compilation. Wasting no time in thrusting into the void, modern Berlin techno tropes are demonstrated here in enigmatic style; shuddering basslines trap febrile snares and clattering percussion in a vice grip as pulsing rushes push the track forward. If anything’s going to make you miss a dancefloor, it’s this.
