On September 4th 2015, American producer and Dial affiliate John Roberts will release ‘Orah’ EP, the debut release of his freshly-launched imprint Brunette Editions.
With this christening record, the label – described by the man himself in our interview as “a publishing outlet acting as an abstract platform for audio recordings, printed matter, and ephemera” – offers yet another particularly compelling view of Roberts’ fragile tune-making with a superb work on gauzy textures and finespun percussions.
After participating in Dial’s anniversary compilation All with the delightful Paloma, Roberts brings his label to life with two sublime cuts of ethereal house. With for only description “two MPC, two thousand works from twenty semi-opaque purple floppy discs“, Roberts’ level of ingenuity leaves us meditative.
Orah EP will be released via Brunette Editions on September 4th.
