Paral·lel Festival complete 2018 lineup with Tobias, TM404, Patric Russell, Grand River

Following their second wave announcement back in March, today Paral·lel Festival unveil the final four artists to join them between 31 August – 2 September in the pre-Pyrenees mountains of Guardiola de Berguedà for the third edition of the Catalan techno festival.

First up is Dutch-Italian composer, musician and producer Grand River. While mainly connected to the fields of electronic music and sound design, her compositions transcend these genres. Her work is known equally for her film scores as for her experimental and ambient projects. Influenced by classical minimal music Grand River’s work integrates a large variety of sound structures and symphonic calculations, often blurring the lines between traditional composition and research-based modernism. We recommend listening to her stunning ‘Crescente EP released in 2017 on Neel and Donato Dozzy’s imprint Spazio Disponibile.

Next up is The Bunker New York affiliate Patrick Russell, a true veteran of the US underground, perhaps one of the last unsung heroes of a now lost era in the Midwest. A genuine sonic storyteller, he magically transforms the diaspora of acid, pure jack energy, and hints of IDM into a deep, fluent sonic dialog that never fails to devastate both minds and dance floor.

Third to announce is the multi-talented Swedish electronica, drone and techno producer Andreas Tilliander, who will perform under his new project TM404. Expect a huge array of analogue equipment including x3 Roland TB-303’s, 606 , 808 and an array of effect pedals for what promises to be an enthralling live set of ambient tones, dubby atmospheres and full on acid techno.

Last but not least is a true mainstay of the German techno scene Tobias. Having been one of the innovators of techno via his involvement with the legendary Hypnobeat group in the 80’s over setting up Non Standard Institute with Max Loderbauer and making magic with Atom Heart, to being a present day highly respected go-to producer with releases on Ostgut Ton, Mule Musiq, Unterton and Efdemin’s very own imprint Naïf – everyone into Techno should be familiar with Tobias. Expect to go down a wormhole of abstract, ambient and techno.

Paral·lel Festival is located just one hour and thirty minutes away from the city of Barcelona.
