Elevate Festival gear up for performances from Skee Mask, Zoë McPherson, Caterina Barbieri

Elevate Festival, a unique music, discourse and arts festival held in the Austrian city of Graz, is set to begin its second Summer edition of the festival from Wednesday 13 July, bringing acts such as Caterina Barbieri and legendary queer artist Peaches to the Styrian capital.

Since the 2021 pandemic reshuffled the festival’s calendar to the Summer of last year, the festival will be going ahead with dates in July for the festival’s second Summer edition, which focusses on the theme of “Transitions”.

After last year’s slightly reduced activities, which saw a much greater emphasis on music than in 2019, the festival is almost back to full-flow, with a comprehensive array of discourse panels, art exhibitions and performances dotted throughout exclusive venues in the city.

Of course, quality music is still very much present: SHAPE alumni live act Zoë McPherson complements a lineup in the post-garage including Skee Mask and GiGi FM, while the subterranean Dom im Berg venue will hold sets from DJ Stingray, DJ Bus Replacement Service, Mun Sing and more, with the likes of Dillinja also performing at the festival.

The festival also plays host to several local crews, with the all-star Grrrls DJ Crew supporting Berlin’s Peaches, and Sunday’s essential closing party held once again by the Atropa gang, who bring a curated lineup to exclusive venue The Orangerie.
