Clock Strikes 13 reveal lineups for London event series

Armed with an uncompromising vision for the future of electronic music, Clock Strikes 13 is an event series breaking new ground by uniting iconic labels, artists and venues in a way never done before. Brain child of Ajay Jayaram, the man part of creating London institutions The Hydra, Cable and The End, CS13 runs across three months of consecutive Friday and Saturday nights from October to December.

CS13 is centred around an eclectic programme that reflects the diversity of modern club music. Christening the series on the 2nd of October is Lex Projects, the label home to MF Doom, Danger Mouse, Golden Rules and more. For the next outing, grime party-starters Boxed team up with leading London imprint Local Action to present a 16-strong all-star line-up that explores the parameters of grime with Kahn & Neek, Slackk, Mr Mitch, and Rabit representing. Lisbon’s Príncipe bring contemporary flavours to Dance Tunnel for the third show, and on 10th October, Manchester’s Skam Records will school us on their 25 years of releasing influential dance.

Vancouver export 1080p are renowned for their dream-like house tracks. Headlined by Project Pablo, they’ll bring a cast of artists across the waters for an intimate UK debut. Also in October find cosmic, disco-laced funk fresh from Norway’s Smalltown Supersound including RocketNumberNine and Bjorn Torkse, plus the darker, warped sound of Liberation Technologies. The Norwegian connection continues as the SUED crew bring a taste of the Oslo over with a showcase feat techno heads Dresvn and Asusu.

Night Slugs head honcho Bok Bok brings his New Jersey crew to UK shores on Halloween for a journey through the bass-driven dance with Karizma, Uniiqu3 and more. Seminal imprint XL Recordings have been responsible for shaping underground sound for over 20 years, and with CS13 they’ll host their first party since the 90’s to mark the rebirth of ‘Chapter’ compilations. Expect a rewind to hardcore roots with sets from Special Request, Missigno and Mumdance, plus Zomby and Hugo Massien. Next up is Hyperdub who’ll takeover Corsica Studios with an army of talent from their roster, plus guests from the Teklife camp, with Kode9, DJ Spinn, Scratcha DVA, Ikonika, Taso, Cooly G, DJ Paypal and Okzharp stepping up.

Deeper into November, Atlanta rap king Father brings his Awful Records comrades to Village Underground for a raucous night of low-slung trap and new wave hip-hop. Collabs continue as Jon Phonics’ Astral Black collective and Ivy Lab offshoot 20/20 tag-team for a night of 100% future club tracks. For those into the darkest techno and other-worldly sounds, NY’s Hospital Productions present deep distortion with Prurient (live) Ninos Du Brasil and more TBA. For the final Friday of Nov, fresh Fabric sub-label Houndstooth bring a bill packed with their stars 18+, Akkord and Throwing Snow, whilst on the Saturday UK institution Planet Mu mark their 20th birthday uniting talent from their epic back catalogue.

The third CS13 joint party unites Swedish industrial label Northern Electronics with explorative Samurai Horo for a hypnotic all-night session set to roam the boundaries of minimalism. The prestigious Modern Love family further the explorations of sci-fi tinged, intellectual dance music on that Saturday’s event, with a live set from Andy Stott, plus Millie and Andrea and Rainer Veil. Viewlexx, the Netherlands collective home the likes of Cosmin TRG, Legowelt and Palms Trax bring a solid-gold cast to Bloc in December for one of the last of 2015.

LuckyMe’s Eclair Fifi follows Bok Bok as another artist on curation duties, with a line-up echoing the NYC club kids scene, with two major player headliners to be announced, plus sets from the lady herself and Joseph Marinetti. Rounding up the week before Xmas, Comeme and Highlife duet for the last show, set to explore the world-influenced electronica with sets from Lene Willikens, Auntie Flo, Throwing Shade and guests TBA.

Playing a major part of the pioneering Clock Strikes 13 run, underground innovators Ninja Tune mark their 25th birthday with three incredible parties across St Johns at Hackney, the ICA and Corsica Studios. Known for continually pushing the boundaries of electronica and nurturing revolutionary artists who form the sound of the future. Delving into the Ninja’s rich heritage whilst nodding to their future, the trip of events include shows from Actress, Dean Blunt, Shackleton, Romare, HNNY, Flak0, King Midas Sound and so much more.
