Ahead of HER DAMIT and the debut edition of 7001 Festival this summer in Germany, we caught up with former Ostgut Ton label manager Jenus Baumecker-Kahmke to learn more about his musical heritage, love of vinyl and his involvement with the music and art world in London and Berlin. Jenus’ mix is a deep sonic journey into the realms of ambient and electro-acoustic music.

Results1073GAS: Rausch
If new album Rausch is music of the forest, it’s a forest existing in the laws of time, physics and narrative found in a Christopher Nolan movie. Where earlier GAS records tethered beats and orchestral samples to a dub techno groove, here the instrumentation often feels like it has been cut away from gravity to orbit erratically through and over the beat.

Still Life / Moving Sounds: A look into Michael Vallera’s sense-awakening music and photography
Draped in ominous atmospheres and rumbling echoes, the work of multi-talented musician Michael Vallera is one of subtle detailing and slow-drip obsessiveness. We caught up with Mike to talk his new full-length on Denovali, living in Chicago and his approach to music and photography.
DJ Healer: Nothing 2 Loose
Following on from our earlier review of Prime Minister Of Doom, we take a look at the lighter side of the mysterious producer from Planet Uterus as DJ Healer. Airy and childlike, ‘Nothing 2 Loose’ is easy to love.
Prime Minister Of Doom: Mudshadow Propaganda
With Prince Of Denmark, Traumprinz and DJ Metatron committed firmly to the past, we get under the skin of the darker of the elusive producer’s new alter egos – Prime Minister Of Doom. Focused, distinctly tribal, it is a heady dance floor journey.
Premiere: Isorinne – Ingen Kunde Någonsin
Hailing from the boiling Rotterdam, License To Love (could well be the title to a sentimental 007 spin-off) is a new label that we’re pretty excited to

Jan Jelinek: Zwischen
Made by and featuring none other than strictly human sounds, warped and deconstructed until it falls in that uncanny valley of dissociative humanism. Jan Jelinek’s latest album ‘Zwischen’ can be considered an exercise in learning to find enjoyment and/or contentment in the intellectual and physical limitations of the human mind and body.
Pablo’s Eye: Spring Break
The 8 tracks here feel assembled as much as arranged, designed as much as composed. Sounds have undoubtedly been picked for their audio quality, but they’ve been layered on the canvass in the way a painter uses colours.

We’re glad to premiere the music video for a beautiful cut from Walrus Ghost & Max Frankl album “Downing Still Life” – shot and directed by Brendan Gilliam all in Super 8, this one’s a BoC-reminiscent trip into memory’s deepest emotional recesses, a gently contemplative piece soaked in the warm orange glow of nostalgia.
In Perspective: Yu Su talks up her latest mini-album ‘Preparations For Departure’ on Arcane
Back this Spring with a sublime sophomore outing on New York-based label Arcane, the Chinese-born, Vancouver-based musician had a lot to talk about, so we seized the occasion and had a quick chat with the tremendously gifted lady.
Dravier: Deep Thought Glacial River
Born from a recurring dream he made before putting the first touch to the tracks – involving “an expedition that leads into a glacier where an ancient ice metropolis lies”, ‘Deep Thought Glacial River’ casts its net far and wide; meshing bleached-out exotica with subdued prog folk tropes and teeming beds of organic noises to create a riveting sound fresco.
