German record label Giegling was born out of a mutual passion of music from a collective of friends and producers who originally set out to arrange parties in an abandoned building in Weimar for their friends. After their venue was demolished in 2008, the collective continued to make use of the Giegling brand they had formed and opened up their own vinyl only label focusing on the deeper realms of house and techno. Their roster includes Dwig, Prince of Denmark, Ateq, Edward, Matthias Reiling, Vril, Kettenkarussell, Rau aka Christopher Rau, Dustin and many more.
Last weekend Superstition and Barbican collaborated to present Planet Giegling within the tropical urban oasis of the Conservatory. This is our recollection of this unique and unforgettable experience.
Inverted Audio partner Make Me head to Corsica Studios on Saturday 13th June with Margaret Dygas, Cabanne, plus a very special Giegling showcase with Kettenkarussell (live), Leafar Legov and label boss Konstantin.
Ahead of Darkroom this Friday with Giegling Records at Dance Tunnel, Vril has sent over a live recording of his set at Berghain. We also spoke to Konstantin to discover more about the Weimar based label.
