Oliver Hafenbauer

Oliver Hafenbauer is a busy man. Artistic director of Live At Robert Johnson, resident DJ at the Frankfurt club and label boss of the ever gratifying Die Orakel, his agenda is pretty full to say the least. So when he dedicates some of his time to record a podcast, you know the series is in safe hands.

Part of the exciting new wave of talents that’s been unfurling over Montreal as of late and more notably the up-and-coming Temple label which they set up alongside Adam Feingold and R. Wong, Variant step up to deliver a ferocious mix of hard-nosed techno, industrial rhythms and dubby flexions.

Former resident at Dublin’s reputed nightclub Twisted Pepper and not-to-miss three-day event Out To Lunch, Barry Redsetta also captains the excellent Major Problems. With a stunning self-titled debut from on-the-rise local producer DJ Après Ski on the horizon, Barry steps up with a polyamorous combine of ganjah-flavoured grooves, Afro-folk polyrhythms and fruity disco nectars. Madteo

With a debut release on his newborn eponymous imprint still fresh on everyone’s minds, we asked outsider house don Madteo for a special podcast. In return the New York-based producer laid down a killer 2-hour long mix full of bouncy house gems, dusty disco melters and infectious boogie groovers. We sat back to discuss his relationship with the Big Apple, industry matters and forthcoming projects.
