As such, genres are not an important factor in critical appraisal, just good music that can stand on its own two feet. Be it uptempo or downtempo, alien or organic, everything is valid. Emotionless techno, needlessly abstract noise, derivative house and self indulgent muso-ism can all check their feet at the door. Bad taste in hats.

Prolific Russian artist Nocow, real name Aleksei Nikitin, has landed a release on Radio Slave’s Rekids with quite some intent. Released last week ‘Samaya Dolgaya Noch‘ has been garnering diverse and acclaimed support. Think Galcher Lustwerk with the darkness ramped to 11! In celebration of the release, we are pleased to present to you the self-directed music video for the title track.

Tom Hang: To Be Held In A Non-Position

Jimmy Asquith is best known for heading up the suite of Lobster Theremin labels, it’s distribution arm, and its fledgling London based record store. Just recently, he has started to make himself known as a producer in his own right, rolling out an EP and archive out-takes releases under the moniker Tom Hang. Now, following these initial exploratory expeditions, is his debut album ‘To Be Held In A Non-Position’.
