Convextion: 2845

Just as its retro science fiction cover art suggests, “2845” is all about timeless space music. Convextion’s first LP in a decade is the soundscape of a journey through the final frontier, and one that highlights Gerard Hanson’s effortless blending of organic and mechanic sounds from above.

Ossia: Control / Information / Version

Running several labels like FuckPunk, No Corner and Peng Sound whilst making for an essential cog of the Young Echo crew alongside Jabu, Vessel, Ishan Sound et al, the Brizzle-based producer follows up to his rather underrated debut solo outing on Blackest Ever Black with a gilt-edged double slice for Gizmo’s Berceuse Heroique imprint.

Michal Turtle: Phantoms Of Dreamland

Following their hugely successful 12″ released last year – a sublime slab of proto-house and a fine reintroduction to Turtle’s music – ‘Are You Psychic?’ – the eighties synth exponents of Music From Memory are back with a full-length of unreleased Turtle tracks.

Leon Vynehall: Rojus (Designed To Dance)

The new double 12″ from Leon Vynehall is not an album. Great pains have been gone to ensure this point is chipped into stone, right up to the bracketed ‘Designed To Dance’ subtitle, yet here is Vynehall, levitating like a zen master.

Rival Consoles: Howl

‘Howl’ is a short-lived, yet gruellingly emotive and poignant album – If you enjoy artists like Heathered Pearls, Valentin Stip and Max Cooper, you won’t regret picking this up.

Roman Flügel: Monday Brain

Music lovers will indulge and gorge upon the six tracks of the release, whether it’s the drifting melancholy of ‘Teenage Engineering’, the heavy acid flows of ‘Church of Dork’, or the numbingly beautiful ‘Picnic for Players’, there are some stellar moments throughout.
