Simo Cell

The French producer serves up an hour of intense rhythm and tempo-juggling, moving from off-kilter electronics through ruffneck junglism onto sizzling electro and tech-y pumpers.

Demdike Stare: Wonderland

More than anything in their catalogue, Wonderland is rooted in the history of dance music, taking rhythms, grooves and structures from across the club spectrum. These beats however, have been mangled, tangled and twisted into weird new shapes.

Luca Lozano / Ruf Dug: Massive 1

For the first number of Junglish Massive, Klasse Recordings boss Luca Lozano summons Rüf Kutz honcho Ruf Dug. A lethal combo on paper that reveals just as satisfying when the needle hits the groove. We’re not quite sure whether Junglish Massive will be exclusively coming in the form of such collaborations but one thing’s sure, ‘Massive 1’ sets exemplary standards.

Pangaea talks up ‘In Drum Play’

Marking his return to Hessle Audio with the release of his first awaited long-player, we caught up with UK-based producer Pangaea to discuss his album writing process and his relationship with Hessle Audio.

Ossia: Control / Information / Version

Running several labels like FuckPunk, No Corner and Peng Sound whilst making for an essential cog of the Young Echo crew alongside Jabu, Vessel, Ishan Sound et al, the Brizzle-based producer follows up to his rather underrated debut solo outing on Blackest Ever Black with a gilt-edged double slice for Gizmo’s Berceuse Heroique imprint.

Premiere: Decka – 003

Decka’s ‘003’ is a track so weighed down with bass and pressure it’s hard not to affiliate this to Berghain’s iconic signature sound. The track rolls out a mix of intense low-pitched freqs, fractal dub and gasping vocals to take full advantage of your body.

Premiere: Hidden Turn – How To

Hidden Turn’s first incursion on Doc Scott’s 31 Recordings came two years ago with the release of ‘Big Dirty’ – Today we are glad to present the transcending ‘How To’, a deep spiralling cut built around a forcible broken-beat backbone, as dubbed-out synth whirls, riffling organic echoes and wailing distorted layers keep swashing in suspended motion.

Dekmantel 2016

We certainly had high expectations when stepping in the deliciously green setting of Amsterdamse Bos for the very first time. The planets aligned for a perfect weekend of partying at Dekmantel: a chilled vibe and the opulent nature immediately absorbing us into their friendly arms, plus the cream of the crop of contemporary electronic music. Here is our remembrance from these intense four-days of raving in the woods.
