Ozel AB

It is with the greatest pleasure that we welcome Ozel AB for one of his rare podcast appearances. As expected the vibe is polyamorous and boundless, deftly threading its way across house, hip-hop, breakbeat, disco, techno, acid and much more than that. We also caught up to find out more about his wide scope of influences, studio stuff and the roots of his love for music in general.

Music Video: Maledetti – Essere

Combining EBM with Nineties club culture’s tonalities, Maledetti is the joint effort of Riccardo Schirò and Red Bull Music Accademy’s attendee Lamusa II. After collaborating within Gravity Graffiti earlier this year, the two young artists recently announced the coming release of their debut EP ‘Ritmi’, a banging five-tracker including a remix from Going Good and JINN affiliate Yoshinori Hayashi, due out late November through Riccardo’s imprint.

DJJ: Yn Y Ty

Fusing strains of batucada and African polyrhythms with tape-saturated Chi-town grooves and deep smokey ambiences, DJJ offers up an all-embracing audio cocktail that doesn’t quite choose between muscular swing and laid-back lounging, intensity and magnitude; feeding the furnace with an equitably balanced mix of pace and focus to ravish all on the dancefloor.

KEMAA

Berceuse Heroique label boss KEMAA serves up an addictive two-hour mix that spans ambient, techno, electro, house and obviously much more than any regular club mix could encompass. No interview supplied this time – sometimes it’s better to live by the word of Proust, “Real art doesn’t require proclamations, it is accomplished in silence”. We hope you’ll enjoy this variegated floor-oriented mix as much as we do.

Dan Shake: Shake’s On A Plane

From the deep to the acid to the disco Shake is slowly securing his name amongst the most respected players in the game. This E.P. demonstrates what sort of artist Shake is and potentially why he stood out to Moodymann like he stands out to his listeners.

In Perspective: Cleveland

Even though his stage name oozes lost NBA finals and industrial decline, Cleveland has been on the soaring side of things since the drop of his arresting debut EP for John Talabot’s label Hivern Discs. We caught up with Andrea to talk up the making of his latest release, naivety in art as well as his studio modus operandi.

Joe: Tail Lift / MPH

Whether he’s serious or cynical, it seems as if Joe simply keeps doing his own unique thing, staying in anonymity while dropping some of the most interesting cuts to come out of the Hessle camp. We can only hope there’s more to come in the pipeline.

Meakusma Festival 2017

These days it is hard to find a festival where you can put your trust blindly into the unknown. The cozy vibe, slick and friendly organisation and stellar musical programming made Meakusma Festival 2017 in Belgium one of the most profound weekend experiences of the year.
