Flaty: New Suggestions (Album Stream)

Named “New Suggestions”, the St. Petersburg force is joined by Gost favourites OL and Lapti, as well as John’s Kingdom head honcho Buttechno among others. And while many of the records these artists are associated with are rooted in more functional house and techno, much of the music on this album isn’t anchored to any conventional beat.

Mind Lotion: Altitude Attitudes

As Fantastic Man, Superconscious Records boss Mic Newman got us used to hi-NRG blends of organic, exotica-infused boogie and straight-up jacking rhythms. Under his Mind Lotion moniker, it’s a feast of chimey inflections and vaporous flute lines that unfurls, matching the intoxicating feel of the summits with the horizontal quietness of a shimmering seaway.

Premiere: Asymmetrical – Banging In The Haze

Asymmetrical ‘Banging In The Haze‘ is a dusty jam brimming with raw hi-hats twirling along acidic synths. Marking the transition from a busy night to the caressing light of dawn, a celestial and smooth melody takes over darkness and deploys its wings towards welcoming lo-fi house lands; still exuding a metallic aftertaste of down-pitched breaks, muffled drums and magnetic bleeps.

Mixtape: Charles Drakeford

With FTD’s new instalment – Georgia’s high-in-vitamin ‘Import Fruit’ – freshly out in all good record stores, we took the chance to discuss label evolution, visual identity and recent favourites with bossman Charles Drakeford as he selects some of the tracks that played a significant role in his musical growth.

Video Premiere: DJ bwin – Mit Bonus ins Casino

OOUKFunkyOO adorns DJ bwin’s lead track ‘Mit Bonus ins Casino’ with a kaleidoscopic mishmash of thermal camera visions, acid-induced hallucinations and geometric patterns breaking out in brightly-hued digital origamis.

Betonkust & Palmbomen II talk up “Hotel Breukelen”

Dutch duo Betonkust & Palmbomen II are back with their piping hot ‘Hotel Breukelen’ for Marsman’s royal-blue-clad label Pinkman. We caught up with the pair to find out more about the mysterious place from which the EP draws its title, the influence of environment on their work and studio mechanics.

Moscoman talks up ‘A Shot In The Light’

We sat back with the Israeli born, Berlin-based producer Moscoman as he talks up production modus operandi and getting outside of his comfort zone. We’re also glad to share the italo-indebted rollercoaster ‘Losing My Wedge’, a wild arpeggiated tune that shall make some heavy damage on the dancefloor.

Madteo

With a debut release on his newborn eponymous imprint still fresh on everyone’s minds, we asked outsider house don Madteo for a special podcast. In return the New York-based producer laid down a killer 2-hour long mix full of bouncy house gems, dusty disco melters and infectious boogie groovers. We sat back to discuss his relationship with the Big Apple, industry matters and forthcoming projects.
