Grimwig

A mesmeric trip down memory lane, this one will immerse you in a world of stunning textural pieces, extended dub stretches and further leftfield tribal-like oddities; the ideal fit to the strange atmosphere of wintery days in the countryside. We sat back with Marionette label boss Ali Safi aka Grimwig to discuss his journey, from the imprints first steps through his teamwork with visual artist Jake Fried, onto his plans for the future.

Meakusma Festival 2017

These days it is hard to find a festival where you can put your trust blindly into the unknown. The cozy vibe, slick and friendly organisation and stellar musical programming made Meakusma Festival 2017 in Belgium one of the most profound weekend experiences of the year.

C3D-E

Since debuting two years ago Acting Press has become one of the most talked about record labels in the underground realm. Today we are happy to bring you a new mix from label co-founder C3D-E, bringing a taste of his deeper-than-deep record collection with a mix which moves on the trippy-sleazy-pumping ’90s axis.

Kito Jempere talks up ‘Sea Monster’

Set to drop tomorrow via Marco Gallerani’s Hell Yeah Recordings Kito Jempere’s ‘Sea Monster’ is a refreshing communion of sorts, bridging the gap between electronic, pop and house in one lush and multi-hued microcosm of delectable tempos and rhythms. We sat back with Kirill to discuss the birth of his sophomore LP, creative studio processes, and how this album confirms a clear shift towards a more live-friendly approach.

Basses Terres: Counting Pulsations

If you’ve heard Basses Terres’ excellent debut EP for BFDM, ‘A Darker Rain’, you’ve certainly noticed his lean for finespun atmospherics and full-on cinematic deep audio-scenarios. Yet more pared-down and essential, his second instalment for the Lyon-based imprint exalts some of the most transcending ambient we’ve had the chance to hear in quite a long time.

Mei Tahat: Dayworld

On their impressive debut for Berceuse Heroique, Czamanski and Shay weave a head trip of anarchic jazz-funk, opiated brass-laden grooves and warped kosmische motifs. The result is a deconstruction of functional dance archetypes and expected rhythmic forms through a digressive string of druggy, mind-altering jams of the finest ilk. Yves Tumor: Serpent Music

Serpent Music, the new album by Mykki Banco associate Yves Tumor, may only feature lyrics on a few of its tracks, but it somehow manages to convey a painfully vivid narrative. A diverse collage of sound that lurches from meditative to viscerally evocative.
