Mix Mup

Before Lorenz Lindner officially kicks off 2018 with exciting new projects and releases, and his schedule goes haywire, we caught up with Mix Mup, who’s put together a precious mix of deep dancefloor jams and steady rhythms for us, ideal to soundtrack your next outing on the highway.

Fabio Monesi

London’s Wilson Records sits in a category of its own, far from the hubbub of inaudible hype and transitory trends, eager to establish a durable take on club music. It’s with the greatest pleasure that we welcome label founder Fabio Monesi for a hour-long session of dusty house shufflers, Detroit-flavoured electro breaks and further hallucinogenic techno motifs.

Cleveland

Turning up in our podcast series at the 266th position, Cleveland lays down a fitting hour-long skein of photosensitive music, neatly fusing his love for dreamy soundscapes and further daring exploratory sonics. In the interview below, Andrea goes into his collaboration with John Talabot’s label, the cathartic side of music production and Berghain memories.

Luigi Tozzi

We caught up with Luigi Tozzi in Rome to discuss contemporary club culture and his forthcoming album. Luigi also serves up a unique live session, featuring unreleased tracks that perfectly conjure up the deep, dubby and trippy tonalities that characterise him.

Art Crime

Fully geared towards the inner realms, Art Crime’s mix delivery for Inverted Audio shepherds its listener in a trance-like state of mind, offering up a sublime hour-long odyssey across spacious synthscapes and multi-hued downtempo laments.

Tzusing

With the shadow of 2018 looming upon us and lots to celebrate after another busy year at the office, we had to put the IA mix series in the hands of someone with a broad enough scope of skills and true balls of steel! We’re proud to present Tzusing as the man in charge of our epic last-ditch stand before we attack the new year, pedal to the metal.

Laura BCR

French-born Barcelona-based DJ and entrepreneur Laura BCR, of On Board Music, steps up for a rare podcast appearance and delivers an hour of sweat-inducing techno, off-axis Detroit house and dynamic electro dashes sure to switch on the dancer in you.

Grimwig

A mesmeric trip down memory lane, this one will immerse you in a world of stunning textural pieces, extended dub stretches and further leftfield tribal-like oddities; the ideal fit to the strange atmosphere of wintery days in the countryside. We sat back with Marionette label boss Ali Safi aka Grimwig to discuss his journey, from the imprints first steps through his teamwork with visual artist Jake Fried, onto his plans for the future.

MIIIA

Fresh off her recent performance at Kepler 452b in Berlin we reached out to Shanghai-based producer MIIIA to contribute a podcast to our mix series. The result is an eerie techno through ambient mix featuring Asian artists as well as a handful of personal unreleased tracks. In the interview we discuss her musical path, the electronic music culture in Shanghai and how it differs from the European scene.

Ozel AB

It is with the greatest pleasure that we welcome Ozel AB for one of his rare podcast appearances. As expected the vibe is polyamorous and boundless, deftly threading its way across house, hip-hop, breakbeat, disco, techno, acid and much more than that. We also caught up to find out more about his wide scope of influences, studio stuff and the roots of his love for music in general.

Perm

We invited Stefan Schmidt-Dichte aka Perm for a bit of DJ action, and he came up with a killer mix interlacing straight out pulsating techno cuts with polyrhythmic detours and further minimalist, off-kilter grooves. We also had a chat with the man to discuss studio methods, living in Leipzig and his beginnings in music production.

KEMAA

Berceuse Heroique label boss KEMAA serves up an addictive two-hour mix that spans ambient, techno, electro, house and obviously much more than any regular club mix could encompass. No interview supplied this time – sometimes it’s better to live by the word of Proust, “Real art doesn’t require proclamations, it is accomplished in silence”. We hope you’ll enjoy this variegated floor-oriented mix as much as we do.

Nosedrip

We caught up for a quick-fire chat with Belgium based artist Nosedrip as he opens up on the width of the Belgium scene and gets us to discover the story behind his unique approach to music.

Natascha Kann

://about blank resident Natascha Kann delivers a mix that reflects her laser-precise sets in Berlin, blending the finest of acid strains, pounding techno beats and propulsive electro grooves to keep you busy on the dance floor from start to finish.

Sentiments

Lyon based DJ and label owner Sentiments steps up to grace our mix series this week with an hour-long mix of funky flavours, pumping electronics and straight out dusty Chicagoan groovers, weaved together by his impeccable sense for liaison and melodic patchworking.

Look Like

Dial back to earlier in the year and you’ll see that our long running appreciation of DVS1’s Mistress Recordings imprint hit a fresh high with an entry from Zurich’s Club Zunkunft resident Look Like. After exchanging a few appreciative words since Mistress 09, we managed to lock down the normally low-key producer for a mix session and quick-fire interview for Inverted Audio.
